Testimonials
“I first started using Fleckvieh about 7 years ago, but it was not until 4 years ago when my first heifers calved in that I decided to breed the entire herd to Fleckvieh. The first thing that impressed me was the calves, not only did they sell incredibly, but they were full of vigour and life. I had almost no trouble in rearing them. Following the decision to cross everything to Fleckvieh I went to Holland where I was shown many examples of 3 way crosses using Norwegian Red and this convinced me to follow the same breeding programme. Now that I have more crosses entering the herd, fertility has greatly improved. This has allowed me to push for spring calving which is something I could have never dreamed of when I had all black and whites. From the minute the calves were born, they have been putting more money on the bottom line and seemingly with a lot less work.”

“We are extremely happy with our Norwegian Red crossbreds, they have achieved 20% higher conception rate than the Holsteins while yielding the same. We are now doing a three way cross with Norwegian Red and Fleckvieh on our high yielding autumn block herd.”
Ben Redman, Herd Manager at Buscot Wick Farm, Faringdon
“We have been milking crossbreds for over ten years. The fertility is exceptional. We can’t remember when we had to synchronise a crossbred. This has helped us lower our vets bills, and our conception rates are great.”

I started crossbreeding 12 years ago and have never looked back. With improved fertility and herd health I am very pleased. My vet calls me his worst customer.”

“We are milking a number of Norwegian Reds, they have fantastic udders, legs and feet, yields are the same as the Holsteins and their fertility is great. Based on these results, we are confident in working with Norwegian Red and will continue using this breed.”
